Ok, I didn't really break it. I actually improved it. It's just going to be broken for the day apparently. Had I realized this I would probably have waited until this evening or even the weekend.
Regardless I thought I would let you know that something very exciting is coming. For all those out there who are tired of googling NonDomestic Mama to find my blog because you have forgotten the address (don't feel bad I have done it myself a time or two when I first started a whole year ago!) I have done something that will make your lives so much easier.
I bought my domain name!!!!
Sorry. English. You can now find me at www.NonDomesticMama.com! Cool right? Don't worry. http://nondomestic.blogspot.com/ will still work too. It will automatically redirect you to the new site. Of course that is after a day or two of being broken. Which means none of my links work and my comments seem to be broken as well. Sigh. What's that saying? Can't make a cake without breaking some dishes?
Why did I wait until today to get my own domain name?
See when I first started blogging I didn't have all that much faith in myself to you know actually keep up with something I started. Unfinished projects are kind of my thing. So, I made a pact with myself. I would not spend any money on my blog until I had been keeping up with it for a whole year.
Guess what today is?
Yup. It's the one year anniversary of my first blog post! One year!! Can you believe it???
I know there were some gaps in my posting at the beginning but more recently I have been really good at posting regularly. I even have some regular readers now!
Do you know what this means? Today is not only the one year anniversary of starting my blog. Today is also the one year anniversary of breaking my Crock Pot! Yep, I broke it when I tried to wash it after I made the Chicken and Dumplings. Proof that I should not wash dishes! Also that you can't make Chicken and Dumplings without breaking some dishes. (Yes, I do know it's really eggs.)
Maybe it's time to buy a new Crock Pot?
Wow! I have kept up with a project for an entire year!!!
I might actually be able to do this blogging thing after all. Who would have thunk it? Certainly not me. Even one year and one day ago I would have laughed at you for suggesting it. One year ago I would probably have laughed at you if you told me people would be reading my blog. I would most definitely have laughed at you (and maybe thrown up a little) if you told me people I actually know, like in real life flesh and blood, would be reading my blog.
Oh, and by the way . . . If you happen to be one of those real life people I actually know and you are just now finding out I have a blog, don't worry. I kept it a secret for a really long time. I have been leaking it out slowly. I have even had some help from another real life friend who I actually know and has a blog of her own House Unseen. Life Unscripted. My own mom found my blog through reading hers. If you haven't read her blog yet you are in for a real treat. Seriously she is a riot. I can also tell you from personal experience she is every bit as fun and funny and sweet and awesome in real life. And yes she really did buy a house off the internet sight unseen. Oh, yes. She totally did. Read her blog!
Also if you are one of those real life people who I actually know and you have already been reading my blog but not telling me because you think I am trying to keep it a secret, you can stop pretending. I know there are just billions of you out there. Hiding. You now have my permission to tell me how awesome I am.
If you are one of those real life people who either already did or did not know about my blog and you hate it so passionately you want to go kill puppies. Don't. Just forget you ever saw me. I am merely a figment of your imagination. This is totally a secret blog and I am just pretending to be me to make you think I am someone else other than the me I really am. Got it. Yup. Click the little x and go on about your business. WHY OH WHY DO YOU HATE ME!!! WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU???? This is why I stayed secret so long. Is it my bad grammar? My hatred of the evil comma? The bright colors? Sigh. I KNEW I should have stayed in hiding!
What? Oh, hi sorry. Got a little carried away there.
Be sure to check back tomorrow (hopefully it will be working then) to peruse the rest of my blog and leave me some lovely comments. (Unless of course you hate me. Then just pretend you never found me. My self esteem can't deal with not being liked. Ignored is way better. No, not ignored just not noticed. That works. Pretend you just didn't notice.)
