{Day 17} Kitchen Counters - 31 Days of De-Hoarding

Welcome to Day 17 of 31 Days of De-Hoarding!

Can we just skip today?  Or just trust me to do this.  Really it's in your best interest.  Ya'll really don't want to have to see pictures of my trashed out counters.  Trust me.

Fine!

But don't say I didn't warn you.

You asked for this.

Brought it on yourself.

Happy?

Ugh.

I never seem to have enough counter space.  Wonder why?

Because this peninsula thingy really does have a lot of counter space.  Granted it really is the only counter space in my kitchen but it is pretty big.  It is also covered very quickly with stuff.  Dirty dishes, food, papers, trash, stuff.  Lots and lots of stuff.

Oh, and how about a couple of empty pickle jars.

Or maybe lots of empty pickle jars.

I wish I could tell you I had an actual good reason for keeping these.  Really they just need to be rinsed out and put in the recycle.  Yup.  Just sitting there waiting to be rinsed.  Taking up valuable real estate on my counter.

My only real excuse is that someone put the lids back on the empty pickle jars and tightened them up and I can't get them off.  So that someone, someone who eats Jalapeno flavored pickles, needs to open the jars so I can dump out the pickle juice and recycle the jars.

Stash of jars.

De-hoarded!

Because I have so little counter space, the stove top tends to function as a second counter.

Shameful, I know.

See that blender?

It's our old one.  It was leaking out the bottom for a couple of months and then just decided to break all together.

So, we bought a new one.

The Oster Versa.  LOVE!  The new blender comes with a food processor.  I have never owned a food processor because, lack of space to store it.  But now I only have to store the container and not an extra base.  How genius is that??!!  (And thanks to de-hoarding, I have space in that cabinet drawer with the mini appliances.)  Plus the new blender has an automatic smoothie button.  And a reverse.  So, that you don't have to tamp it down or anything.  (Or maybe shake the blender back and forth which might cause it to start leaking.  Or something.)

Old broken blender.

De-hoarded!

Oh!  You know what else our new blender came with???

Individual blender cup things.

Why do I still have this separate one that never really worked well anyway??

De-hoarded!

Wanna see my clean counters?  Yes, here I am cleaning again.  What is up with that?

Tadah!

Just look at all that counter space!  Now I have space to cook for Thanksgiving!

What's that?

I have to keep it this way for a whole month??

Can't I just start cooking now?
